I started lifting seriously before my freshmen year of high school before football season. I was 14. You can start doing pushups and other exercises using your own body weight for resistance earlier on, but try not to lift heavy weights till you're at least 13 or 14 cuz you may stunt your growth. I was 5'10", 165 lbs. at 14 when I started hitting the weights hard. Now I'm 6'1", 230 lbs., so it didn't stunt my growth lifting heavy at 14.

Well, I do sports and stuff so it keeps me in shape. I don't really go to a gym, but I do pushups and stuff. But I think I started actually focusing on my fitness when I was 13.
