No, it was an isolated incident.

I live in Minnesota and have traveled across that same bridge on several occasions. Certainly makes a person think twice before crossing a bridge or overpass. But the bridge did have some issues and it was 40 years old. The designers believe it would survive approximately 50 years, so it was close to aging out.

Yeah I saw that this morning, pretty freaky stuff. I live in Jersey and go over the Pulaski Skyway Bridge sometimes and it's super narrow and jams constantly with traffic since it's right by the holland tunnel to NYC. I get a little nervous on there sometimes but now, I'll definitley be taking the train.

no...why would i be? I'm not scared of driving when a car crashed. I'm not scared of matches when a fire was started somewhere. I'm not scared of water when someone drowns. I'm not scared of flying when an airplane somewhere has crashed. Why would a bridge collapsing make me scared to go over a bridge? It was an isolated incident. I feel bad for the victims and their family's but it doesn't change my life.

No because it's a rare incident that is unlikely to happen again. Of course I think about it, but it doesn't worry me much. My dad is also a civil engineer and has never heard of bridges that didn't really have problems just collapsing like that so I know it's really unlikely to happen twice.

Between that bridge and the overpass in California, yeah I'll be nervous going over them and under them.

not at all... i stood on the next bridge over to see the fallen one. it was surreal to see a collapsed bridge and cars and trucks and school buses in the river. its been there my whole life, and i just kinda assumed it would stay there.

I have always been afraid on bridges because the big trucks make them vibrate and shake. I can't help thinking any minute, we're goin' into the drink!!
