Basically, because they have become an Organization that discriminates others. They do not allow Non- Christians or Homosexuals to be involved. The idiot above has no idea what he's talking about. Just because someone is gay does not mean he will promote it to the children let alone act upon it. It's Pedophiles who prey on children and not Homosexuals.

If you are not a Christian you are not allowed to join either which is ridiculous. Think of all the kids who could benefit from something such as scouting but are not allowed to join just because of a religious difference.

Lastly, on top of that, the Govt actually gives money to The Boy Scouts in grants and such, so how can they discriminate against someone when it is funded by the Govt and is NOT a private institution.

UPDATE: That link you sent is a hunk of BS put out by the Boy Scouts. Do some internet searching and you'll see numerous news orgs and researched this including 60 minutes, and CBS Newsline. What the heck do you expect the Bou Scouts to say "gays and non athiests are not allowed". I guess i should have been more clear that it's athiests not allowed.

Every group will have another group which targets it for some reason. Some people have a bad experience with one member of a group, then they assume that all of those people have the same characteristics. This is an animal instinct called prejudice. It helps us to remember that rattlesnakes bite, and that apples taste good.

Homosexuals oppose the BSA because of its stance on a moratorium of gay leaders.

The "cool kids" in school call boys who are in Scouts "gay."

People with military backgrounds think that the boys are too liberal.

Liberals find the uniforms, insignia, oaths and flag ceremonies are too militant.

All of the adults involved in the program are looking for a way to connect with their children in a wholesome nurturing environment and pass along values and skills.

The children in the movement are there because their parents make them, and they have fun.

I kinda get the impression that right from the onset the main purpose of the scouting movement was to help gay men get young boys. Some folks might resent that.

The only people who dislike the boy scouts are people outraged that they do not want to have gay scout leaders telling the scouts that its OK to have sex with each other and that their Moms are really not necessary. Other than that the Boy Scouts have been pretty successful over the years in guiding boys to learning and being resourceful. There are people who view freedom as meaning that everyone must accept everything thrown at them regardless of how much it offends or disgusts. Then there are others who view freedom as freedom from having to believe what others tell them about everything. The scouts are just a bunch of kids who have been targeted by gay groups and liberals who believe that the job of government and the courts is to enforce the liberal view of life and if you disgree then you must be forced by police or court orders to comply with that view. Guess its how you view freedom.

When I was a kid we had very little money, but my father still wanted me to join the cub scouts. We went to the initial meeting of a new troop of cub scouts. They collected the dues etc... then the scout leader took off and never returned. Therefore resulting in a loss of money and trust, but hey it could have been worse. My dad could have wanted me to be an alter boy :-)

it rather is approximately 30 minutes. If the objective objective industry is only your friends and kin, it rather is totally a sprint long (seems self indulgent). If the mothers and dads of the full troop could be there, it particularly is unquestionably too long yet what do i understand? i finished at 1st type.

Girl, don't you read the papers? they are a bunch of creepy people who don't let kids who are gay in, and don't let atheists in. And frankly, with the clothes they wear, they NEED a GLBT infusion!
