I heard a story about a guy who would occasionally "cleans" his body by starving himself and then taking a bath in warm milk. The reason was that there are worms that develop and live in the body and the scent of the milk would draw the starved worms out of his pores. I think the story is crazy but I'm not sure, is that possible ??

The starving and the milk bath, are pretty silly, I sincerely doubt that that would do anything at all.

However it's true, pretty much everybody is indeed host to at least a *few* different kinds of parasites, be they worms, protozoans, mites, viruses, fungi, &c.

Most of these organisms are for the most part *harmless*, and cause few symptoms-leave little trace of their existence. Normally, the immune system keeps even the really nasty ones in check.

Among the "classical" parasites,"Demodex" mites, "Toxoplasma", pinworms, hookworms, "Ascaris", and nonpathogenic amoebas, are particularly omnipresent. Nearly everyone is host to at least a few strains of the ubiquitous bacteria "Staphylococcus", which occasionally causes nasty infections.

The human gut contains around 2 1/2 pounds of bacterial cells, most of which are beneficial, helping us digest our food, and producing vital nutrients, vitamins, and amino acids, as well as crowding out pathogens. Another perhaps 1/4 pound live on and in our skin, pores, mouth, nose, hair follicles, etc.

Ok, I'm done raving for now..

Worms In Body

Never know till you try, heheheh.

But yeah, I believe we all have some worms in our bodies. Gross, but I think at least some kind of fluke.

I read somewhere not long ago, that about one-third of people in the US have parasites, and that, mostly from their pets. If you ever have physical contact with a pet, chances are pretty high that you'll get a parasitic infection. Unless you wash like real quick after touching the pet.

Of course, that does not mean worms. But I don't think it's that difficult to get worms invading your body. After all, we do have openings large and tiny. And even with the most sanitary and hygiene practices, there are lapses, and the worms do get thru the system. Especially at home, where we are sometimes not as careful as we think we are.

Most Humans do not have any worms in them. There is a type of worm called Pin Worms that we can get. A doctor will give you a medication to kill them.
They seem to be more common the farther south one goes.

Did the guy who told you that story make a recommendation as to whether you should use 2% milk, half-and-half, or buttermilk for that cleansing bath. For a person who is allergic to cow's milk did he recommend soy milk or maybe sheep's milk in that bath?

That is easily the most bizarre story I have heard in years (and it drew some of the strangest Yahoo Answers I have ever seen). If you live in a country with proper sanitation and avoid walking barefoot in pig farms you are not likely to have any worms (even ones that are as thin as hairs). If you had them you should go to a doctor rather than a dairy farmer for a cure.

--"I am slipping towards suicide is it normal to find death comforting?" Who knows what the word "normal" really means. The only thing I can tell you is that SOME people find the idea of death comforting. However, there is no logical reason why. Plus, for most of us, the very idea of death goes against our instincts (not just humans, but most animals). --Thinking about death/suicide. Thinking about it does happen to a lot a people (even me). Thinking about it ALL THE TIME is the part that is not normal. Often, this constant thought indicates that something is wrong. Could be with your life... or... could simply be some chemical imbalance (we do not yet fully understand how the brain really works). --"I could write an autobiography ..." Do so. If nothing else, it could help those of us still around to understand what goes on inside a brain. In other words, your life would not be totally lost. --"this is a very harsh cruel and selfish world" Of course it is. Evolution wants to get rid of as much stuff as it can, in order to keep only the strongest. With NO regards for what is morally right or wrong (morality is what we, humans, invented, along with religion, to try and give some meaning to our lives). Knowing that the world is cruel and selfish is not, by itself, sufficient reason, given that the world is cruel and selfish for everyone... except for random luck or lack thereof. For example, when some religious nut tells me how God gives everyone an equal chance, I remind him of the childred born in Ethiopia. Did they decide to die of hunger at 2 years old? What crime did they commit for God to punish them that way? --"... family..." F*** the family. Get a new life. Yes, I know, it is not easy. And you might even die trying (will that be so bad, for you?). ----- Death is eternal, and eternity is very long "especially near the end". There is NO spirit that keeps your mind going nor are there any "feel good" afterwards. You are just dead. Period. Forever. Everything else was invented by religion, for people who can't accept reality. You will not even feel the worms eating up your body after being put in the ground. IF (a big if) you decide to go, PLEASE, I beg you, don't be so chicken as to feel you must take others with you (like those idiots who commit "suicide by police", by going on shooting rampages) - if you do, you will know that at least one person (me) will see you as an idiot. Keep in mind that death is (as far as we know - despite what some religioous nuts tell us) irreversible. If you are not yet certain, waiting a few days will not change the length of "eternity" that follows your decision. When in doubt, wait a few days.

Not always. There are parasitic worms that can be introduced into the body, such as from undercooked pork products. I am skepitcal as to the cure; perhaps he has to starve to afford the money for the milk. There are better ways to treat worms.

it could be true but it sounds a bit odd, your body can get tape worms from eating raw meat or any other spoiled food, i think the longest tape worm found was 60 feet
