Even though I'm NOT exactly an uber-religious person, I believe that personal/religious freedom is one of the most fundemental rights guaranteed by the Constitution. I, while not a religious person, have no problem if one prays to God, Jesus H. Tapdancing Christ, Buddha or even that crazy Elephant God guy from India, so long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of others, it has no consequence. Just because there is no tangible evidence that suggests that prayer has anything to do with anything, doesn't mean people shouldn't have the right to do it. As long as no one is forced to do anything, then what the hell do you care? Treating someone differently because of race, religion, hair color, shoe size, penis size, breast size, etc is exactly what seperates us from the fundementalists retards that live in the third-world sh*tholes around the world.

Should you be branded insane for voting for a party that is evil, on either side? Should you have to give up your unused ability to pray because you vote? EVEN IF prayer is worthless, which I do not believe, it is better than consuming resources such as electricity and gas, enabling people who don't believe in women's education to generate a living. Therefore, in answer to your question, NO, and prayer, weather having power or not, is better than many things. Use your imagination.

I'm sorry you feel like this. I've personally had cancer, and I was blown away with how fast it left me, and what do you know, I prayed a lot. Even my skilled oncologist could not explain it. He was surprised. That's all the evidence I need. I'll be praying for you though....

Belief in God and the power of prayer is beyond science. This does not mean that it is not real. Faith cannot be explained. To those without it, there is no explanation that suits. To those who have it, no explanation is necessary.
But the real question is -- what has happened to you to make you so bitter?

Someone burning a building for God is an arsonist.
There are testimonies of cancer and other diseases simply disapparing with no apparent medical explanation, through prayer. Seek them out, and perhaps you'll find your hypothesis incorrect.

Sorry I disagree with your last statement. I'm sorry you haven't had the experience of the power of prayer. I hope someday you do. Independent with liberal tendencies here. Who are you to decide how when and if people should pray? Who are you to decide they are mentally incompetent? This is not very American at all.

No. It appears to me that you have foreclosed from your life the best thing out there. I used to be a skeptic but found that life is much easier and much more goes right with genuine belief in a personal Higher Power.

Trouble Maker, I'm hooked on Jesus (should I be hooked on monkey ancestors?) and I vote every time elections come around.
I have no problem with atheists, but your hateful questions make me believe that you aren't an atheist at all. Just a depressed religious nut job.
Yes, a depressed RELIGIOUS nut job.
Yeah, I said it.

a belief is not a disability, whether you pray and it works or not, it doesnt need proof, somethings just dont have to be justified. and prayer has helped me alot, so dont say there is nothing to prove it, my life now is evidence enough for me.

J.e.s.u.s = Just esoteric society undermining sin.
S.a.t.a.n = Sinister alliance teaming against Nuncial. That's you buddy from hell.
Jesus prioritized healing the sick while nations were too busy enslaving each other and sacrificing each other.
