That's a good question. When I was in middle school I got suspended but I had to stay and school and I was put into a room for kids that where suspended as well and there were no windows just lighting and all you could do was your school work and go to lunch.

Actually, suspension is seldom used in schools today. Principals have In School Suspension policies where the kids are in a detention format for a day instead of being home. There are also alternative schools where repeat offenders are sent for tutoring and counseling to help them. Even in situations where it was a major infraction, our school will put a child in the alternative school and try to help him/her get back on track. There are some teens who just do not need to be in a classroom with other kids.

It depends on what the offense is
When I was a teen and would skip school, I would get suspended. It would piss my Dad off so bad that he would call the school and tell them that they were only giving me what I wanted---- a vacation!

That's exactly what I think! There were some kids (in high school) who got out-of-school-suspensions and they were like, "Great! Four days of vacation!"

They don't even care!
