I personaly like Soul of the Bride from the writers of Charmed a hit tv series. I also like the 3rd Harry Potter book.

Our personal favorite is "Nor Crystal Tears" by Alan Dean Foster. It is a good story about prejudice, conflicting cultures, and the positive effect of reasonable intelligent entities. Sort of a SF version of the story of Mahatma Ghandi.
