Hi pepzi_bandit...
Ok... try this recipe... you'll feel like at Olive Garden!

1. Bring some water to a boil (I cook mine in Chicken broth to give it more flavor) (add a tsp salt and a couple of tsp olive oil) add regular spiral noodles or linguini... cook them until tender.

2. mean while sautee the mushrooms in some butter, add some chopped cooked ham & some chopped vidalia or reg.onions, and fresh crushed or (dried garlic powder if you don't have the fresh kind) and brown them until they have a bit of color... then mix a cup of half & half cream or heavy cream, a 1/4 - 1/2 cup of white wine & with a couple of table spoons of reg. flour in a bowl or cup... mix it realy good, finish & taste it off with some salt & pepper...

3. then mix that into the sautted mushrooms and let it come to a quick boil on medium heat... sprinkle it with fresh chopped green onions or parsley... serve over the cooked pasta... Enjoy : )
Don't forget to invite me and all your friends!... I'll bring the wine!... (smile)

Really have no clue what to do with a bowl of mushrooms. Even if they are ordinary ones. You could look up a cookery book for ideas.

You can make a gorgeous pasta - mushrooms in a pan with a little butter , garlic & white wine( pesto if you have it) - Add fresh cream or milk - thicken it up - lovely cheese or parmesan and there you have it.

If a decent size - put them on a tray - little oil . Drizzle garlic over the top - add goats cheese ( cheddar if you don't have ) - a little parmesan and grill

The best way to cook them is to peel, slice and put in the microwave for about 2 mins. Best eaten with sausages, bacon, black pudding, fried egg, and beans.
