Yup. In "today's" enviornment, I would, and I have. Not many, but .... When I answer a question, I usually go along after, and read the other answers, thumbs-uping 'til my computer quits on me (it doesn't like to DO that, for whatever reason...) If I encounter a nasty, obscene, etc. answer, just because they could, I check their profile. If they're brand new, I block. I haven't been around long enough to know everyone, not by a long shot. I figure either they're a clone, or if they're new, and that nasty out of the gate, I don't need 'em. I'm not particularly interested in trading insults with a moron. If they've been around a while, 3rd/4th level, and up, I consider their answer more carefully. (Even a sweetie-pie like me can be misunderstood. ... right.) So, yup, I do.

I have blocked a few, who are trolls, and the ones I am not sure about who have used trash talk on here. I do not want anyting to do with them. Does it work, I do not think so, but I do it anyway. Blocking is suppossed to keep the stalkers away from my questions and answers, but I still get reported by these little worms that think it is funny to report anybody they can. What would be better than blocking would be to just outlaw the report button, then no one can report anybody.

No, I would not see the purpose in that since they have not said anything or done anything to make me want to block them out.

No way...that would be kind of silly. I've only blocked people who were pervy or stalkers. I don't accept any more *fans* now, either. Too many trolls. :o( But I've never blocked anyone who's never said or done anything wrong to me..that would just be irrational.

I did this one day, when I found someone on my fan list; after clicking their profile. They had been on Answers quite a while, but with not many questions answered, not many points, but a TON of contacts. My instincts said "Troll".
I have since changed my settings, so that I receive an email, when someone becomes a fan.

I would if the avatar has a really offensive picture! No idea what purpose it would serve me except giving me some kind of satisfaction that "justice has been served" in my own little way!

Nope because I never block anybody. I feel everyone is entitled to their opinion and Lord knows I certainly give mine alot. If I disagree with them I just move on to the next question.

Yes. It all depends. The fact that I hate your screen name 'cause it reminds me of whatever. I don't like your eye color. I hate the state you're from. Etc. Yes I'll block you as soon as I'm done answering your question. Just joking. Bye

Nope.
I have found that even some of the most offensive people have areas where their points of view are valuable and insightful.
(Though wading through the junk is sometimes pretty annoying!)

The following is straight from my profile page...
I WILL BLOCK ANYONE THAT IS NOT MY CONTACT as soon as they try to become my fan. Ask first or be bannished...to Yahell.
If I am on your fan list...please accept my sincerest invitation to add me to your contacts list.
...I am aware that by doing this I miss knowing some nice people. However I am also narrowing the opportunity for trolls and nasty people to take me out of answers through unjust violations. It is a sad thing having to be this way...but it has protected me.
