Aussie fast food is brilliant - in my experience - and comes in much wider variety of cuisines than you'll typically find in the States. So you'll find lots of Chinese, Vietnamese, etc., outlets, as well as lots of places that offer plain old home-cooked recipes that people will call into on the way home to collect dinner. I've spent several months in Aussie one way or the other, living in hotels and with families, and apart from throwing another prawn on the barbie I don't think I saw anyone cooking at home. Actually I think Aussie cheap food is probably the best in the world ... (and nobody's paying me to say that!).

I think it is popular but not as in the US. We have an obsession with junk food in the US and that explains the obesity problem and all the other health problems Americans face. Also it explains why the "most powerful country in the world" has a shorter life expectancy than the rest of the world.

Yeah, definitely! McDonalds is probably the most popular, with KFC in second.
