It will certainly make it harder for you than someone with a clean record with the same abilities. The mentality is that someone who is desperate is more likely to steal than someone who doesn't need the money. (never eat at a restaurant where the chef is as skinny as a rake).
How comfortable would you feel letting someone with known credit problems have complete control over your hard earned savings and the savings of others under your care ?
I have always found banks to be like the person who lends you an umbrella on a sunny day, but as soon as the rain starts want it back.
You need to find a way of making it work for you not against you. Like you know how hard it can be, and what dangers exist for people following bad advice. Try to emphasise that whilst it is one of the most unpleasant lessons you have had, it has really brought home the knowledge of what is important in life and how we can be fooled into think that luxuries are an essential.
I wish you luck.

Yes.
I worked in a bank and if you even got a CCJ you would have been out on your ear. Anyone with excessive debts can be compromised and no bank will risk that costing them.
When I applied for a job recently I was credit searched. This wasn't even in Banking, but included taking the banking sometimes.

Eventually ALL jobs come down to TRUST ... questions is, what bank in their right mind would employ some-pone who could NOT be trusted with money ???
Same goes for any job that handles money (you might even find it difficult to get a job as a supermarket till operator)
Having said that, if you have paid off all your creditors and now have a 'clean' record, most companies will look at your CURRENT situation (i.e have you learnt your lesson or are you in debt again ??) and base their job offers on that ..

Yes. It shows that you are not able to manage money. It also shows you have little regard for those whose business is money.
If you can show mitigating circumstances and that you have changed, you might be in with a chance.
You will not be the first to turn the tables round.
Good Luck.
