I know this friend who has a gf. They are engaged, marrying in 6 months' time. They sms each other during the day, sometimes have a quick chat on the phone, and apparently have regular and great sex. They are both over 37 years of age.

Recently, his gf (teacher) seemed to be slacking off on the communication, and the intimate conversations. She is totally absorbed in her job and works from 6.30 AM to 4.30 AM. At night, she apparently sits on the computer till around 10 PM. From when she comes home, till she goes to sleep, she spends time on her own stuff. She tells him she is not on chat.

My friend also works a job from 6.30 AM till 7.30 PM. Sometimes he comes home early to spend time with her. Weekends, no office work is allowed and they usually do fun stuff together.

Suddenly, she went off air for 8 hours of the day. No contact, no replies to smses. He smsed her, asked if she's ok? She replied 2 hrs later, saying she's very busy, but ok. 10 hrs, 1 sms.

What do you think?

I think she is overworked, overwhelmed planning for a wedding, and her fiance has a friend who needs to find something else to do rather than worry about them, since apparently the bf doesn't seem as upset as you.

Well, you DID ask...

Yeah it does sound a little shady. My first thought would be that she is screwing around. She may be getting nervous about settling down and is trying get all her "cheating" out now.

Now why I said my first thought was that it being that they are getting married soon, she could be planning a surprise for him. Now honestly I doubt that but it could be possible.

Tell him to sit her down with her and bluntly ask her what is going on. I would have him call her job (only if they know who he is) and ask something that would require the person on the phone to confirm that she was in fact working late one particular night. But if he doesn't want to be intrusive then have him talk to her. If she is avoiding him, have him either say or sms her that they need to talk. It will make or break their relationship. That should get her attention. If he would like a more subtle approach, hire a private investigator. He will see where she goes and if she is really working.

Communication is the key. Just have him tell her that he feels that she is distant and it is making him think that she is hiding something from him. He has to tell her everything in his heart. I hope everything works out. Good luck sweetie.

First of all...I am guessing that you meant to say that she works from 6:30 am till 4:30 pm. Then she sits on the computer till around 10 pm. Why does she feel the need to be on the computer that long after working all day? I am willing to bet that she has met someone on the computer.

I think that there are times and places where sms are inappropriate and the phones/blackberries need to be turned off. While a teacher is teaching would be one of them. During an important meeting (yes teachers have them). During an emergency drill or field trip......

Jobs come first, end of statement. She seems to understand this, he needs to.

I think that shes a little too caught up in her job. Try to get them to take a day off to just spend time with each other.

Sometimes people get busy or off track.
Maybe its time to switch up their routine. Maybe shes bored with the usual.
If its only 1 time, i wouldnt freak out about it.
