i thought it was a good film, i was cringing a little bit at the sex scene, but anyway....
two questions:
when the mum took Allie to see the man she looks at every day, what did she mean when she said: "I don't even know that man"?
and also
at the very end where Old Allie and Old Noah are talking (this is after Noah has gone to hospital) and he lies down with her and they go to sleep together, when the nurse finds them, are they both dead?

she did bother to get to know the man because he was poor.
she was rich. she didnt want to break the class order
and yes allie and noah are both dead.
the power of their love, the fact they couldnt live without one another made them die together with so much love between them.
it was a unbelievable movie.
awesome.

1.) The mom meant she didn't know the man anymore. She once had when she was younger and had a chance to love and be with him, but she chose money over him.

second question; yes they were both dead. Living they couldn't technically be together because her mind was gone, but if they died they couldn't be together in eternity.
