I don't think it emboldens the terrorists at all and I especially think that they are unlikely to read it. I do think that it humorously reminds us that it's not just "our boys" dying over there and that humans are humans, all over the world (Gasp! even the Arab world!). It's easy to dehumanize "the enemy" and to not empathize with their suffering.

Absolutely. We should lock up anyone who tells us things we don't want to hear. I hate being challenged or made to look like a fool. The penalty to treason is death, as per the Constitution. I think the writers and editors of The Onion, as well as many so-called "comedy" shows and publications should be hanged. We must destroy freedom to protect it. Especially since we know bin laden is such a fan of The Onion.

At least one other person here gets it. (Hi, Eric!)
Does anyone seriously think the terrorists give two $h!ts about this? And do you know what freedom of expression is? It's one of the good parts of being an American.

The Onion is more factual than FOX """"NEWS"""
NEWSMAX or the Reverend Moons Washington Times
They are all opinion not news.

The only treason here is by funding a study to discover that Iraqi's grieve when they lose a loved one. What a blatant waste of money, of course they grieve, as does Mexicans, Canadians, Cubans, Haitians and the rest of the world. What kind of results did they think they were going to get from that study? I wonder who paid for that, us taxpayers, Unbelievable.

So, in addition to being arrogant and elitist, you're unclear on the concept of sarcasm, right?
