If I could get 800 responses to a question I'd like to think I'd try to pick a best.... but since my current record is 40 answers, I don't really have to worry about it.

I sure as hell would not waste my time trying to read them all.
Pick the first one on the list that wrote more than a couple of sentences. The first one you run across that seems like they put some thought and effort (and spelling) and choose it as best answer.

have everyone vote on it! I think it would be kinda hard/time consuming to go through all 800 answers and rank them.

I would go through the first three or four pages and decide ^^'
I wouldn't have the patience to go through all the answers, and I hate letting my questions up for vote.

yeah I would pick one, the one that explained the answer in a quick and thoughtful manner, I hate it when someone just talks and talks and then I get bored reading the response and I move on to read another response,,
