If everyone was gay?

Why do people think that if everyone was gay we would cease to exist as a race?

We have so many technological means of having children now, that it would be very simple continue reproducing. Gay men could donate their sperm which would be implanted in willing lesbians to conceive children, just like what is already going on (although not EXACTLY like that). At least our population would be in control. And we would actually have no unwanted children.

This isn't really a serious question, but I just wanted to point out that inconsistency.

It's funny how no one even reads any more. "Willing" was pointed out. Gay and lesbian couples can decide amongst themselves who gets the child. It's really not that hard. It's disgusting to me that people would try to pollute such a beautiful vision like that (no unwanted children, no population problems).

No, I don't think we would cease to exist. As you said, gay men could donate sperm for the lesbian women. There are enough women, I think, for there to be enough babies for everyone.

Sorry dude, Im pretty gay myself, but i dont want the whole world to be, thats going to be freaky and we dont need to have everything under control i say let it run free and natural that way we will have a good number of gay and straight people which would come into a good combination and the world would not be over populated, people would be all happy and accepted.
Its good to have a family at home where the kids come from both parents, its natural and its normal.
People shoudnt marry for any other purpose other then the love for eachother that way we woudnt have "un-wanted children". But so many people make so many mistakes these days, the world has gone crazy, drugs everywhre, people having sex with just anyone, its just gone all wrong. Gay people have and always will be around, but never more then 10 to 15% of the whole worlds population, and thats fine, the problem is the SOCIETY and the GOVERNMENT in all of this, not the number of gay people.

While I agree with you that gay men and lesbians are perfectly capable of procreating, most don't. So, the population would eventually become very small.

What about gay men who want children?
Will we have lots of lesbians carrying children and then giving them up for adoption? Like a child farm or something.

I'm all for homosexual rights but I don't think there is such a plausible scenario as the whole world being gay.

But you're right if people's argument was solely about reproduction then new methods should be taken into account as well as sterile heterosexuals being taken into account for the equation.

I also think it's stupid when people say that, not just for the excellent reasons you list, but because we don't want "everyone" to be LGBT. They project, because they want "everyone" to be straight. All we want is for the perhaps 5 or 10 percent of us who are to be acknowledged and treated as equals.
