Does Tim Burton like Edgar Allan Poe?

I know he quotes the end paragraph of 'The Raven' in the 'Vincent' poem, but is that because 'Vincent' is about Vincent Price and he liked E.A.P or does Tim actually like him too?

No, maybe not at first because Vincent Price made a lot of movies based on Poe's work and maybe Tim Burton liked the movies so much that he later read the stories.

I was quite the opposite, I read Poe then watched a few of the Vincent Price movies.

In that same interview, he also expressed interest in an Edgar Allan Poe film in the near future. Are you asking whether he likes him, or whether he LIKE likes him?

Quoting Poe seems a good indication that he at least appreciates Poe's influence, likely on both Price and Burton. The poem's text doesn't allow for a clear answer as to whether Burton himself feels affection for Poe's work, but looking at the influence that work seems to have on much of Tim Burton's projects, I suspect that there is admiration accompanying the influence.

I dont know but EAP and Burton both have a sense of macabre in their works. Burton makes awsome movies and EAP is alright- a little too dark at times.

They're innovators in their fields. As the answer before suggests, death is a recurrent theme in their works. Read a lot about them and their past. That could help. Notice how escapist they are and how reclusive as well, but geniuses in their modus operandi
