Capitalism is the only thing that can eradicate world poverty. All other systems simply re-distribute wealth until there is none left. Capitalism generates new wealth. Capitalism is the only system that has three distinct classes, rich, middle and poor. Other systems have only rich and poor or only poor.

Capitalism allows free people to move from one class to another. Hard work, dedication and good decisions always result in an improved quality of life in capitalism. That is why so many people try to immigrate to America, the land of opportunity. Other lands that do not have capitalism do not have opportunity for improvement.

In America, we have eliminated poverty. Just look at the lifestyle of the poor people in America. They are well fed, housed and receive health care. In most other countries, that is considered middle class. Only in a capitalist society would a family of four earning thirty thousand dollars a year be considered poor.

The only people living in the street are there by choice. They do not want to accept the assistance that is available. They have that choice. Quality of life in America is largely defined by the choices we make.

Help by donating some of your time to volunteer in shelters & help the homeless people.There will always be poverty no matter what. You can't eradicate it because there are so many aspects & angles to it.
Some people choose to live a poor life. In India it's actually encouraged for men (Hindus) to abandon their lives after their children are raised & their wives to seek enlightenment. They rely entirely on charity for food & they'll sleep anywhere.
Some of it can also be blamed on a nation's government. Like exploitation or civil war that can greatly be affecting the people & keeping them poor (think Africa).

There is no way to entirely get rid of poverty, but you can of course help a little by volunteering. It's an age old goal which will never be accomplished unless humanity is threatened & we all begin living in utopian societies..
