They want to end the sacred, Christian bond of marriage by legalizing gay marriage.

They want to teach our kids that we evolved from monkeys.

They want to prevent our kids from praying in school.

I can go on and on with examples.......

LOL you mean they want to give your freedom back to you.

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Do you have any examples that don't conflict with the constitution?????

Marriage isn't just Christian. Many other religions have marriage. In fact, legalising gay marriage would be increasing freedom! It would not affect Christian marriage at all. Christians can still marry just the same way as always. What gay people do in their own personal lives is none of anyone else's business. There is not an end to the Christian bond of marriage.

Evolution is a scientific theory. It is part of science. Why not teach it in science? And it's apes, not monkeys. If you're going to criticise something, get your facts straight.

I don't care if kids pray in school or not. It's up to them. However, having a school sponsored prayer session would make it uncomfortable for non-Christians, and could lead to persecution by other students. School is not a place where kids should feel alienated. If they want to pray, they can pray. Just don't force anyone to do it.

Please provide examples that actually show that freedoms are being taken away.

Your message only shows your ignorance of the examples you state:

- christian marriages will not 'end' because gays are allowed to legally marry

- actually take the time to learn about a subject before you quote some inaccurate talking point you heard in church, no where in evolution does it state that man evolve directly from monkeys

- kids are not prevented from praying in school in any way. The current laws only prevent the schools themselves from promoting, organizing, or endorsing any such prayer or religion. It does not stop an individual child from praying.

So what other 'freedoms' of yours do you feel are threatened? The examples you gave are weak and totally without any merit.

Did you bother to read what you just wrote? Because your comments contradicts your question!

The right for homosexuals to co-habitate, the idea that our public schools should teach science and not The Bible... that's what freedom is!

And no one is taking the rights away from anyone to pray anywhere! Every school in America has the option to hold "See You At The Pole" where Christian students are free to meet at the flag pole every morning and join in prayer. The entire organization exists to give kids who wish to pray a safe haven in which to do so. Also, if you want your kids to learn creationism vs. evolution, you can always home teach them. Sure, they'll grow up with no social skills and no friends, but at least they'll be properly taught.

Freedom means everyone is free to worship, love, live and learn how they want to, not how you want them to. Freedom also means that no one gets the upper hand... everyone gets equal treatment. You are free to stand against gay marriage. You are free to believe in creationism and you are free to pray where ever you want to and whenever you want to. And others are free to believe what they believe.

Seeing how the conservatives, the Republicans and Bush wants to Christianize the entire nation, tap our phones, deny rights to social groups they're uncomfortable with and do it all under the hedge of the President's protection, I'm not sure where you get balls big enough to say the liberals are robbing you of your freedom.

i am sure that you can but the fact of the matter is that America is a liberal country and conservatives have a hard time coming to grips with that principle. to me, every one of your examples, is so twisted or distorted that it is simply not true. gay marriage does not end christian bonds of marriage no more than civil unions,or Jewish weddings or Muslim weddings do. if you want your children to be taught that science is not a matter of facts then you can send them to private school where they can also be allowed to pray. what really scares me about christian conservatives is that they would, in a heart beat, cram down our collective throats their beliefs, while screaming that everyone else is taking away their freedoms and rights
i would suggest to you that perhaps you would be happier in a country that will round up the people who do not have the same beliefs as you while guaranteeing the same freedoms that this country does and good luck in finding that one, because the last time that i looked, all the theocracy's dominated countries are presently at war with the liberal "western" world. in closing i would say to you WHY DO CONSERVATIVES WANT TO TAKE AWAY OUR AMERICAN FREEDOMS?

Because they want to control everything we do.

Social engineering is their goal. Control every aspect of a persons life, and train them that only the government can take of folks. Get rid of any incentive of bettering yourself, and if people manage to better themselves, ridicule those folks at every chance. Take away their money and act like your giving it to the poor when in fact, you form new programs that don't actually do anything but spends money.

Look at the Welfare program, it was enacted in the 60's under the Johnson administration. It was SUPPOSED to be used by a person for a LIMITED period of time. Almost 40 years later, we have folks that have been on Welfare almost all of their lives and now their children are on it. Can folks get off Welfare, kinda. After a certain point ALL of the benefits are dropped, making it almost impossible for someone to get off of Welfare. Liberals make sure the cutoff is just enough below what folks would have to make to get off all aspects of the program leaving people a very crappy choice. Do I just give up and let the government take of me, or do I live barley getting by, but with no help from the government?

Nice. But somehow, surprisingly, and with a little shame, I almost sorta agree with something you kinda mentioned.
Get the government out of the marriage business. Leave the sacred religious ceremony to the religions. Make no further legal distinction between friends, fiances and spouses, forget all about marriage from a governing standpoint, and fix all the excuses for having such distinctions: benefits, estate decendence, child custody, etc.

They want to end the sacred, Christian bond of marriage by legalizing gay marriage. - First I have to ask how a gay couple getting married takes away your freedom. If you read the first amendment carefully, you can see how setting marriage laws based on religious rules would violate the rights of people that reject your religion.

They want to teach our kids that we evolved from monkeys. - It's called science. I have yet to see evidence that evolution is not true.

They want to prevent our kids from praying in school. - Nobody is preventing your kids from praying in school (or anywhere else for that matter). They have correctly prevented schools from forcing religious beliefs on people by state sponsored prayer. If you want to have prayer run by the schools, then you have to accept prayer for all religious beliefs. Should be fun to watch on Pagan day.

You have the right to your religion. You don't have the right to force me to practice your religion.

How exactly is this taking away freedoms? A man can still marry a women and vise versa, you can still teach your children creationism, you can send your children to a Christian school where they can pray all they want. I don't see how these are examples of taking away freedoms.

Timothy I am sorry your God is so small. I will tell you that God is not afraid of gay marriage, God is not afraid of evolution, God is not afraid if you take away prayer in schools. Do you know why, because he wins in the end.

If you know anything about your bible, you know that earth is the devil's domain. God told us to NOT to judge our unsaved brothers and sisters but to judge each other. You fail.
