You do realize that, besides slang, English is the easiest language to learn in the world. And as such, it's the best language to be used for inter-continental communications between countries with different national languages.

If you migrate to a country where 99% of the population speaks English it would be in your best interest to learn the language. Same thing as if you migrated to a country where the majority of the population spoke Spanish, or French, or German. It's just common sense.
