True Story...
Shortly after my grandmother passed away unexpectedly from an infection, I was at home putting my little brother to sleep who was an infant at the time. I went to my room and got in the bed. I was just staring at the ceiling trying to fall asleep and a strange image appeared on my closet door. It reminded me of how the water looks at night if the moon hits it. A rippling look. I heard my grandmother, or something, call my name several times and I remember not being able to move for a few seconds. The image disappeared and when I was able to move, I ran in my mother's room and got in the bed with her. The next morning I told her what happened.. She blew it off and does to this day.
Another time, I had gotten home from school (I was in high school). I always got home before anyone else because my school was a half a mile away. I went into the basement to throw a load of clothes in the washing machine. As I was doing this, I heard someone calling me from upstairs. I assumed it was my mother. I yelled upstairs that I was in the basement and continued what I was doing. I was called again, and I repeated my location again and when I went upstairs, I said (thinking my mom was home) "You didn't hear me say I was downstairs?" No one was there.
I ran down to my then-best friends house immediately.
I'm 30 now. I've always kind of had a sense of things. Hard to explain really. But it doesn't really frighten me anymore.

Yes, when I was a teenager I am now 37. I lived in a old two story house. I saw the ghost of a woman float across the kitchen floor. I was so scared I never told anyone because I was afraid they would think I was crazy. Needless to say years later I was talking to my mother and she saw the same woman I did but she never told anyone either. We also would hear doors open and close, footsteps walking up and down the hallways and stairs. Windows would close by theirselves. It was a spooky house. People would walk down the street infront of our house and see people in the windows.
This is true and people do see ghost not everyone has. I am not trying to get on tv or in the paper I am a private person that is why I am not using my real name on here.

When a nurse on nights A buzzer went in one of the individual rooms .As I went to investigate I saw a grey figure come out of that room and go in to the opposite one.I went there first because I knew that room was not occupied but thought that one of the patients was wandering, there was no one there. When I went into the room where the buzzer had sounded the lady in the bed there said "will you tell her to go away please "That lady died later that night. That part of the hospital was an outside annexe and very old and I had been told that there was a ghost called "the grey lady".Like one of the others on here who has answered this question I was very sceptical and did not believe in ghosts.I do now !

Without meaning to cause offence to everyone who says that they have seen ghosts, I have to say that they are wrong.
There are no such things as ghosts. Fraudulent mediums and people with a tenuous grasp of reality might well disagree, but there ain't.
Maybe people want to believe they have seen ghosts; convinced themselves that a shiver or a strange knocking sound is the result of some supernatural agency warning them or haunting them for past misdeeds or whatever.... But sadly there is no such thing. It's a shiver. Or a noise. Mice in the attic or something.
You might as well believe in a bearded old man who lives in the sky, loves us all and made everything in under a week with no assistance or any tools.

Personally, no.
Conversely, there's a story my mother's told me from when I was very young and I believe it.
Long story short: when my parents were newly-weds they spent a night with my father's grandparents at their farmhouse.
During the night my mother woke up feeling a presence above her. As though someone were watching her. This went on for about an hour before it finally left her alone and she was able to go back to sleep.
The next morning when they came downstairs my Great-Grandfather's first words to them was: "So, did you meet our ghost?"
Apparently, the guest room had been haunted for years. My mother refused to go into that room again, for obvious reasons.

seen one - no - heard one and smelt one yes
sorry i know this sounds weird - i've heard footsteps when no one is there and doors opening and closing when there 's no one there
and for a while after my father died from time to time there was a strange antisceptic smell in the house that would come suddenly and go just as suddenly in a room with no cause . it doesn't happen now but i think he's moved on
personally i'm an atheist and don't believe in god but life after death i now believe in
