I am opting towards cremation because I want to polute the oceans with my presence and sink to the bottom where some poor little creature that lives in the dark will accidently eat my ashes.

But besides that I am deathly afraid of death by fire.

Death scares the crap out of me, I want to be cremated when I go though to make sure I am gone. I am claustraphobic so I don't want to be buried. (I know the whole oven thing is technically the same!) I don't think your soul feels the heat because by the time you have been prepared to be cremated, your soul will be in the afterlife and separated from this existence that we call life. I would like to be cremated as soon as I am declared dead because no one is allowed to ever perform an autopsy on me, that is my worst fear. When I get cremated I want to still be in tact - all of me.

Have you ever been in a situation where you're suddenly above yourself looking at what is going on? It's technically called an out of body experience. Most of us have had at least one and they usually happen at traumatic times. At these times we're still attached to our bodies because our bodies are still alive. When we die we separate completely... so no we don't 'feel the burn'.

And why don't you have someone fertilize a newly planted tree with your angry ashes? They're good at the process of transformation.

A man is dying. He calls his lawyer and tells him his last wish
"When I die, I want my body to be cremated and my ashes to be spread all over our living room. All my life, when I was smoking in the house, my wife was running after me in panic, holding an ashtray and shouting "Mind your ashes!! Mind your ashes!!" Well, this is my revenge for this torment of so many years...."

Happy now??

OMG, I am going to be cremated someday. Your question caused me to stop and think. It is quite upsetting if you think about it. Does death truly hurt? And do we hurt after death? I assumed that when you die, it's pretty much over with the body. Your soul goes somewhere else.

The question is, if you aren't cremated, do you feel the worms and do they tickle? : )

Imo, once a person dies, the Soul has left the Earthly Vessel [the body], therefore I'd have to say no.

I don't think so. Or at least, I hope not. I want to be cremated, too. But what would it feel like if you were embalmed, then buried? That would be scarier, being buried.
