My Dad had given me a huge gift set of Jean Nate!! Magazines were loaded with articles telling girls to "layer" their fragrances, so I had on dusting powder, lotion, after bath splash and cologne at the same time. Dad said that I chemically burned all of the hair in his nose! I had 5 people tell me I was stinky before I ever got out the door. And they still sell the stuff!

This may be from the 70s or maybe early 80s (I'm not sure) but the big thing I remember from back then was "Hai Karate"
As to boltthrower63's answer, I still wear Old Spice occasionally since I'm a retired Navy guy. Why? Remember all those commercials of the Sailor heading back to sea after a night ashore, and all the women were following him with those wanton looks in their eyes? I think that's what enticed me to join the Navy!

I wore Love's Baby Soft too, and then I graduated to Charlie White. I always went light on the spray though...

There were several: Soft Musk, Caliente, Xia Xiang, Lady Stetson, Navy. I loved going to the drug store and testing every new fragrance, making the air around me stink pretty.

Oooh I loved my Love's Baby Soft! I had the aerosol bottle too so it'd spray this looooong blast... I'm sure everyone around me was gagging when I'd go by...
Oh and also my Poison. I can't even take a whiff of that stuff now it makes me so sick.

LOL! Lady Stetson. I still like Lov's Baby Soft! But I now wear the socially accepted pricey stuff!

That one and "wild musk" for me. I couldn't put on enough to qualify for the wet t-shirt or my Dad would not have let me out of the house, much less back in it. He would always say, "who took a bath in that?" We got the message there!
