Mine?
When they want feeding they regard me with great admiration.
When I am tellingthem to stop doing something, they regard me with great disdain.
When I have the audacity to go on holiday, they do not deign to regard me at all when I return.
But when it is winter, they regard me as the best warm blanket and nesting place to be found.
They are cats in case anyone hadn't guessed.

Depends on the pet. With dogs, if you have the body language and understanding correct, they will see you as the leader of the pack. With cats, they treat you with distain.

My two dogs: Curious George and Beauty see me as three things. The boss, a dog just like them, and the leader of all the animals in the house, because everytime I see my animals doing something bad, I never back down and try to take power & show them from right to wrong. Overall the discipline I give them, I always play with them like other dogs do with other dogs. When I see they're just laying down and staring at random things, like they're in their own trance, I get up and run around to get energy out of them, so they can get excited. They, also, learn from the guinea pigs and the cat's in this house. If they do something bad, I discipline them the same way as I do with my dogs, and when my dogs see that the owner's in control, they just back down and listen, but they see me as a dog because I, usually, get the craziness out of them and get their energy going when there's nothing to do in the house for them.
My three cats: Um, I think my cats regard me because of the freedom I give them. My mom would usually want the cats inside because she gets scared that one of them might run away & never come back, but I just let them outside, because I don't like my cats being locked up in a house all day!!!
My two guinea pigs: They look upon me as their mom, because when Princess & Brownie are too tired to eat, I'd usually feed them from my hands. When they are sick of staying in the cage, I pick them up carefully and let them run around on the floor with supervision. & I spoil them, sometimes, but I can always see they're doing something good all the time. :)
