Okay. Well me and my best friend decided to put lemon juice in our hair. Me being blonde, I knew it would work better for me. She's a dark brunette. Anyways, we stayed out in the sun for a few hours. Went to the beach and shopped.

So today my hair hasn't really changed all that much..but my friend comes over sheriking like mad because the spots she put lemon juice in are now redish-brown tones! Why did it work so well for her and not me?

Your hair has probably lightened to some degree, but since you have light hair, it is less noticeable. Your friend's dark hair provides a contrast that spotlights the treated areas.

OMFG! that's crazy! why did you do that?

lemon works powerfully in the sun! because you're blond but she's a brunette! it's the same thing if a dark skinned person wear pink blush and compare to a lighter one! who's gonna be more noticeable? the dark skinned one!!!

Hair color doesn't mean the lemon thing will work better or worse. It has more to do with how POROUS your hair is. Basically, teeny weeny microscopic pores in each strand of her hair may absorb the liquid form the lemon better than yours.

Because your hair has less pigment to be affected by the acid in the lemon juice.

because her hair is dark brunette and her hair was in lemon juice and was in the sun, so it worked for her and your one didn't work beacause your hair is blonde!

Becasue she has darker hair, the change is more obvious. In blond hair, the changes would be very subtle.

lemon is acidic, and since you hair is the same shade as the lemon, it doesnt have the same effect.
