Apparently Hugo Chavez has come out in support of Mr. Penn's stance on the war in Iraq.

Are we supposed to care?

Cheering crowds. Travelling in an open-backed jeep . Not exactly something Bush can do in his own country shaking hands with happy people. So which president has a people who love him?

Sean Penn's highest level of education is graduating from high school. Because of this education, Sean Penn felt qualified to make the following statements about politics:
"We have a dictatorship in this country. Our government is presently the greatest threat to our people."
"I don' know if people value the thought of revolution any more. I think it would be an enormously patriotic movement to invest in the possibility of revolution."
"I am not disturbed by Ronald Reagan's Alzheimer's. You know, there's not a lot of cleaner pictures of karma in the world. I mean, it's not a very Christian way of thinking. I do stray sometimes. But I go right from him mocking the farm workers and eating grapes on television during the boycott to him dribbling today. And I feel a sense of justice."
When asked whether the Iraqi people were better off without Saddam, Penn replied: "Who the blank are we to say whether they're better off? We have a dictatorship in this country. Our government is presently the greatest threat to our people." Penn went on to say, "Unlike George W. Bush, I had a father who read the Constitution of the United States."

Penn is someone who has his words written for him. Have you heard how he speaks when words are not there for him??? He sounds like an A*SS. If he wants to kiss Chavez A*SS he should go live there.

Why cant these actors just do what they are paid to do, speak words written for them.

The reason I get pissed off about it is that they are given time to spew and that average American will never have that soap box.

I think anyone who meets with Chavez, including Penn and Glover, are traitors. I despise President Bush, but not my country. I would never condone anyone meeting with a leader who condemns America...

Celebrities who go and visit foreign heads of state like to think they're influencing global politics, but in reality what's happening is the head of a foreign state wants to meet a rock/movie star because they're famous. It's a photo-op for the premiere, that's all.
