People have given you some great ways and means to lowing your blood pressure naturally. The thing is, you really haven't provided any reason for your pressure being high.

If your blood pressure is mainly due to hereditary reasons, there is a lot you can do to keep it in check, but not resolve your problem. You say if you smoke or not, whether you are overweight, nothing.

In case you haven't heard already, smoking is bad for your health. If you can stop smoking, GREAT, if not, then at least try to cut back on the number of cigarettes you smoke each day.... Quiting is just a matter of sticking to a decision for some people, and can be as rough as an illegal drug detox for others. Exercise and maybe even using nicotine gum or patches may help you when your nerves get on edge and your cravings peak.

Really and truly, talk to your doctor about natural solutions. If your doctor is ignorant when it comes to natural ways and means to resolve your problems, then take your data and medications to a Homeopathic professional. They should be able to make some suggestions to help you with your problem without interferring with your prescribed meds.

One of the so-called 'bad' aspects of natural cures is that sometimes it takes natural herbs time to build up in your system before they reach optimum efficiency. Until then, you will probably need to continue taking your meds....to some extent. Even exercise, just because you stretch out and suffer through running a few miles, the most effectiveness of running will take place over time. The run will become easier, you will be able to do it faster, and the results/benefits will be more pronounced. You will not be able chew on a herb and feel the affects like Popeye eating a can of spinach. It will take at least 30 days of consistent efforts.

If you have a colestorol problem, a bowl of oatmeal everyday or 2-3 times per week will provide a measurable result in 30 days. Also, garlic cuts colestorol like a ginsu knife. If you like garlic, then consume in your recipes as often as you can stand it. You can also purchase the odor-free garlic tablics/capsules. Along with exercise and plenty of water, you will be surprised how much this will lower your level in a 30 period.

High blood pressure CAN be controlled or kept in check using natural ways and means. Major changes will NOT take place in 24-48 hours. Doing specific things 2-4 times will not change things much either. If you are serious about controlling your BP issue, then you are willing to committ to making changes and for a period of time no less than 30 days.

If you are leading a stress filled life, then relaxing and/or meditating can play a BIG role in your BP control. Some smooth jazz and recliner works for me. A nice cool rag of the eyes and take deep breaths for the length of an extra long version of a mellow song will do WONDERS. Check your BP before and after a session like this. There WILL be a difference.

Oh, if you don't want to constantly run in and out of your med doc's office, then get your own BP cuff and stethescope. If you have a fire station close to your house, stop there and get them to check your BP. IT'S FREE!!! They will even instruct you how to check your own BP and what to do if it should spike or drop.

I hope this and what others are providing helps you out. PLEASE!!! Keep your med doc involved, and don't just stop taking your meds. A spike or a drop are both dangerous. Keping your med doc and homeopathic professional on the same page SHOULD allow you to slowly and gradually reduce the amount of drugs you need to control your pressure.

If you live in a state where marijuana is a legal prescription drug, I strongly suggest you take it. All my family have high b/p and are all on medication that will deteriorate internal organs over time. Some of my relatives have already died from kidney failure-the leading cause of death in the elderly these days. Kidney failure has been traced to too much medication over time which clogs up the kidneys and they die. The herb I recommend does not have any side effects, is 100% natural, and will not cause long term damage to your body. I have been using this for at least 20 years without any problems. I do not have any motivation problems-which the drug companies want you to believe. I am in excellent health, not overweight and have a good job that nets me alot of money. I have tested the effects of this herb on my blood pressure and others, and I can reduce my first number 50 points in 2 minutes by using this herb.

Studies with the amino acid arginine have lowered blood pressure from an average of 165 to 127 in six weeks when using an average of 2.3 grams a day.

A higher dose increases the effectiveness. It's safe to take 6 grams a day. Body builders have taken 17 grams a day with no side effects. The arginine should be taken on an empty stomach to achieve the nitric oxide effect...despite what some labeling says!

My own experience is that with prolonged usage less is needed to get the same result. My blood pressure is 110/65 and I only take 1 gram every few days, for instance.

Ignarro, Furchgott and Murad earned a Nobel Prize for discovering that nitric acid relaxes blood vessels. Arginine is the body's main source of nitric oxide.

There is also some arginine in watermelon, which I'm crunching on this very moment! Yum! The only side effect occurs when you get the juice in between the keys of your keyboard.

Good luck and be well.
