You mean like when congress approved 70 billion for the war and 2 billion for the gulf coast after katrina?

Most of these projects require 10% from local governments. The federal government usually is willing to spend the 90%. Maintenance is not a hot campaign issue.
Look at states like Indiana that are outsourcing their interstates highways to foreign companies looking to make money on the tolls. Washington can be blamed for many things but this is a state and local government problem.

Some of us have never stopped squeaking. Problem is too many Americans forget to vote. I hope their decendants don't have to suffer for it.

Would be nice if we take or our problems first and not spend money in foreign countries to fix there problems.
