I get about $97.2 million dollars. 4.5 tons x 2000 lbs = 9000 pounds. Times 16 ounces per pound = 144,000 ounces. Gold today at about $675 per ounce = $97,200,000. Does that sound about right to everyone?

4.5 tons is 9000 pounds.

Gold is sold per TROY ounce. There are 14.58 Troy ounces in a pound. So 9000 * 14.58 = 131200 troy ounces. At ~$675 per troy ounce today that makes $88.5 million dollars. Not too shabby, but Bill Gates can imagine that kind of money!

Hope it was helpful!

At about 144000 oz, or 4.5X2000lbx16oz/lb, and a spot gold price of about $675, it just under $100 million, say 97 million or so, depending on the daily price of gold.

changes daily...

you can calculate it...

Gold price per oz X 4.5 tons X 2000 lbs/ton X 16 oz / lb X conversion from troy z to "sae" oz (I forgot that conversion factor... easy to look up)

Right now ... something on the nature of $625/oz X4.5X2000X16

punch it in a calculator
