80 less 60% =
80 - (80 * (60 / 100)) =
80 - 48 =
32

The new price is $32 after a 60% drop.

The price dropped by 60% so the new price would be 40% of that $80 which is $32

If the price dropped 60% then the current value of the share is 100-60=40% of the initial value.
(40*80)/100=4*8=$32

x(.4) = 80
