Is it just me or is a-rod geting too nervous when he goes up to Bat. I mean hes like Zero for ten. We all are waiting for that big home run but he just needs to calm down. Does anyone agree?

I think most guys who hit 500 push too much when they're on 499. It's really just natural, since he's hoping to get it over with as soon as possible. You're right that he needs to just relax and let it come, but Alex has a history of putting too much pressure on himself at certain times.

Once he gets that 500th, I wouldn't be surprised to see him rip off a bunch more over a short period of time. He's overswinging right now, and that will correct itself once he has 500 and can relax again.

Actually he's 0-21.

But he's A-Rod, and he'll hit that 500th homerun in the next two days, and go on an unbelivable tear. I mean, it's all this pressure. The media is making a big deal out of it, so how can he not be nervous?

yes I do. Its way too much pressure he was on fire in the beginning. hes just in a slump in the past years hes been struggling when the yanks need him to come through.
He will be the youngest player in the 500 home run club. and hell be in the 3000 hit club hell be fine hopefully

It just seems that way because you are watching closely for him to hit #500. He is not nervous and he looks exactly the same to me as he has all year long. For A-Rod #500 is a great achievement but it is really just one more homerun on his way to 800. He will hit one soon and your concerns will go away.

I agree with ya. I think he's pusing a bit. The number 500 is in his head and he's extending himself to get there. He's actually 0 fer 21 and counting.
