This morning my huge angelfish was just sitting on the bottom of the tank not moving. He looked dead so I poked him with the fish net. He started doing loops and floating on top of the water. I thought he was dying. Then he just started swimming normally and ate when I fed him. I'm at work now. Will he be dead when I get home or was he just asleep or something?

That sounds like a very advanced internal infection to me (since you don;t mention any signs of disease on the fish). He wouldn't be sleeping as such in that position and several diseases can cause this problem. In that advanced state, I would say the out look for his future is very bleak and you should expect to find that he has died when you get home.

Sorry

Doesn't sound promising.Sorry.Have you just changed the water in the last day?Something to throw himinto a lil shock?Keep your fingers crossed,I guess.

It sounds like Hexamita. He should be dead but if he isn't, just flush him. He's too far gone for the treatment (which is aggressive itself)
