I would have to say that this day an age too much success is very damaging. I look at these famous people & their successes & it's kinda scary. If I were in their shoes I would totally be in serious need of psychological help becuz I couldn't imagine ever experiencing the horrors of having a break-up disected in the news, my body image crushed by unflattering photographs of me, my personal space & private life invaded & my life & the life of those I love threatened.
It's just so much to deal with when you have to deal with 100 people pointing cameras at you & shouting your name when all you want is a Caramel Frappacino. It's maddening. All becuz you made a lot of money on a movie or dated someone famous or got caught doing something you weren't. No matter what the spoils of success are...it totally comes with a damaging cost.

When you fail, it's hard to pass over that disappointment, but some people will help you, although others will be happy for you. Also, you will learn something from your failure. When you have success, you will meet 2 types of people: those who will envy you for that (even your own friends) and those who will want to take advantage of your success. You will be surprised to see how many new "friends" success will bring you. Plus, it will be harder to remain a successful person. And you will be expected to be the best all the time, so the pressure will increase. That's why having success is so scary for some people. But I think we all want success, not failure, no matter how scary it may seem!

Giving up (is more damaging). No success without failure. No such thing as too much of anything. Just rehab and consequences.

i think they are both equally damaging....
too much success could be bad cause you feel too powerful and it can go to your head! makes you feel superior to others and if you have a family, it will probably interfere....
too much failure makes you feel like everything and anything you do is never good enough for people and can make you feel confused, upset and depressed!!!
somewhere in the middle is where id like to be =)

Depends on which circumstances.
For your dignity? Too much failure.
For your personality, perception of life, career and love life? Too much Success.

I think it would be more damaging to be at the top all the time. You would expect more from yourself and others would too.
