Do you have a Living Will, which expresses your medical wishes should you be in an incurable or irreversible mental or physical condition with no reasonable expectation of recovery?

If you don't have one, are you expecting your family to make these decisions for you? What if some of your family want to leave you hooked up to machines and others want to disconnect you? Who do you expect to pay your medical bills if you are on life support for weeks/months/years/decades?

I'm curious how all people, from all walks of life, from all countries, address this issue. Thank you for sharing.

No I don't have a living will but because I am married my husband really has the final say so and he knows what my wishes are. I don't know who will pay my medical bills because I don't have any money now and I wont have any money then either....I need to get life insurance....but that will only help when I'm dead....Its hard to get insurance at a decent price that is why I dont have it. I guess I should write something down though....I never really thought about it much....its a hard subject to talk about with your loved ones.....but my husband does know that I dont want to live off machines...I would rather die.

I actually work for a lawyer, so yes I do hvae a living will expressing my wishes and directed where my things be probated. It IS a smart thing to do. I am only 23 and a lot of people say it is morbid, but you never know what can happen to you.

I do not have a living will but my family, SO and close friends all know my personal( pro-life) stance and know that i would never want to be involved in euthanasia no matter how much pain I am in for religious reasons.

This is a very important topic to discuss with loved ones because although it is rare it will need to be used, it is possible. You would want your loved ones to carry out your wishes and not something that they wish or believe in.

I would trust my family to make those decisions for me. I would hope they wouldn't keep me alive too long if I were to live like a plant though.
