Yes it was terrible, you are right. I acknowledge serious mistakes were made.

However the officers that shot the male were not to blame. They believed that they were tackling a terrorist like the failed bombers the previous day, and the 7/7 bombers who killed 52 innocent people. The threat level in the Uk was at an all time high.

You do not give warnings to terrorists with bombs. This would only allow them to detonate the device. You have to get close and deal with the threat effectively. Yes the officers would have clear instructions what was required from them. They had little choice. Fail to act and risk an explosion that could kill many. How many people on Yahoo would be willing to risk their lives to stop a suspected bomber. Not many. They would run in the opposite direction. Had they not acted and he had killed innocent people there would have been a bigger outcry.

I am not by any means justifying the death of an innocent man. I am explaining that not all the officers were at fault. Some acted without thinking about their own lives. Others tried covering up their mistakes.

Yes the police were at fault as were the terrorists who acted in this country.

You know the word terrorist has come from the word terrorise. Every policeman that brings terror and pain into the harts of the innocent people (even if they are illegals - for Dry Dreamer or whoever) is the same kind of terrorist like the one he is fighting against. If you loose you mind to hatred and cannot control your gun and your nerves, than you should never become a policeman. I agree with you totally.

Could not agree with you more and worthy of a star.

As for Ellieward25 above, I wonder if you would still feel that way if he had been YOUR INNOCENT brother, father, cousin, husband etc. I see you gave a thumbs up to that stupid, infantile 'joke' as well, Ellie. Says it all....

I think this was very bad policing and they police want more powers to get terrorists. Having laws that heavly favour the Police; creates lazy Policeman.

This was Jean Charles de menezes fault because if he had obeyed his Visa terms and conditions, he wouldnt have been there and he would not have got shot. One less illegal immigrate how many more to go.

you're right it is a bloody disgrace, a bloody disgrace that we had to pay compensation and ppl lost their jobs because some illegal person, who should not have been here in the first place did not understand enough english to stop when told to by the police. i have no sympathy for this man or his family in fact it outrages me that the law protects those who have no place here while those trying to do their job and protect the british tax payers get sent to hell. it's all wrong.

I have no thoughts on it at all..Poor innocent man, that is your opinion. The fact is he was an illegal immigrant who had he returned to Brazil when his visa ran out as our laws required him to do may still be alive, Also the police had to deal with something they never had come across before in this country "suicide bombers". this man was another victim of the muslim extremists hatred of this country. Don't blame the police for this they are in a no win situation..Damned if they do..Dammed if they dont

It is a terrible thing to happen but to be fair without sounding harsh theyve gotta act on these things cus in real life its better than hundreds of people bein killed, if a terrorist is suspected theyve got to act quickly there isnt always time to be kind and thoughtful they have to protect us
