I used to think this way but I have found that the complete opposite is true. The strongest and most respected people I know are also the kindest. :)

It is not for the meak this life, it is for those who have the courage to be gratefull onto others and do spread a little joy in this world. Don't worry about how you are percieved if there is goodness in your heart it will show and others will follow.

yes a nice person is viewed as weak. They are also ran over by every one and used more then some one who will stand up to them Of course I have been told I'm to much of a nice guy though like being the nice guy not going to change lol.

Yes, I think people genuinely believe this. I have been viewed this way, because of my kindness. But, as you said, the opposite is true. I'm very strong. I've also known people to think that genuinely nice people are "stupid". lol. It's just not the case.

I agree. I think that being able to act kind to everybody, and not losing your temper easily, or being rude...that takes strength.

But these days, peoples image of strength usually factors in the following: anger, aggresiveness, not getting emotional, having an attitude, and speaking your mind even if you sound rude.

Kind people usually speak their mind, but they lack the aggression that makes people listen to them, and because they don't get angry and they stay calm when defending themself, people tend to think they're weak. Really, it's often the opposite. I think people that get angry when others show a different view, or people who feel the need to be aggressive because they need to make others feel they are strong, are the weak ones.

depends on how they protray themselves...
a rude person can seem weak if they still let people push them around
a nice person can be very well weak if they allow people to push them around but with assertiveness in a non hostile way they would be viewed as strong and respectable as u say more than a rude assertive person.

i think it's all on the way a persons personality combines with 'nice' in them and projects themselves to people.

nice people can just be very well liked and attract people

No, I think genuinely nice people some times have a problem standing up for their beliefs. and often get picked on by others...

I think that there are evil people out there that view nice people as weak...and try to take advantage of it. And there are a LOT of evil people out there. Hard to say if that means "most people", though.

Alot of ppl think/ reason this way to b true.
It's actually FAR from the truth of it!!!
It takes an inner strength, (to be sure)
of gigantic proportions to stay on course.
My hsbnd used to tell me to stop being a door mat.
That was 20 yrs ago, he doesn't think that of me any longer!

No, I've known genuinely nice people that had no problem standing up for their beliefs. There are ways to speak your mind, and still be nice about it

Sometimes...My hubby always says it is easy for others to mistake kindness for weakness and in his case it could be unhealthy too!

He's the sweetest guy in the world but will defend another to the end.
