It might be done by Saturday. It depends on when you started, and only you need to know that. The good news? You can still go swimming...if you use a tampon. Don't worry too much about toxic shock syndrome, because it's a one in a million chance. If you are that worried, though, only use a regular absorbancy tampon. That reduces the risk greatly. And change your tampon every six to eight hours. Never wear a tampon at night!!

Next time you buy a box of tampons, read the TSS pamphlet that comes with them. It's all in there.

But, above all, have fun at the waterpark. Tampons are fine. It's what swimmers do!

If you still have your period by the time Saturday rolls around you can use a tampon. I would suggest you buy the slim and you may want to try using them today and Friday. Here are some steps to lower your risk:

Careful tampon, diaphragm, and contraceptive sponge use:
Follow the directions on package inserts when using tampons, diaphragms, or contraceptive sponges.

Wash your hands with soap before inserting or removing a tampon, diaphragm, or contraceptive sponge.

Change your tampon at least every 8 hours, or use tampons for only part of the day. Do not leave your diaphragm or contraceptive sponge in for more than 12 to 18 hours.

Alternate wearing tampons and sanitary pads. For example, use pads at night and tampons during the day. Change your tampon at least every 3-4 hours.

Use tampons with the lowest absorbency that you need. The risk of TSS is higher with super-absorbent tampons.

I would try a tampon. If you change it every 4-5 hours and use the lowest absorbency you should be just fine. TSS used to be caused by the old tampons because they was something wrong with them. Now they have changed that and it is really rare to get tss. Now go have fun at the waterpark.

Just use a tampon. If you change it every 6 hours or so you won't get TSS. (Remember TSS is very rare and can be gotten even if you don't use tampons. Boys have even gotten it!).
Don't let your period control your life.

Try the tampon. I suggest the Playtex Slimfit if you've never used one before. Try not to be nervous when you use it because it will make it harder to get in correctly. Hopefully, it will be done by Saturday. Good Luck.

Tampons or no water sports.

Just bring some tampons and change them every four hours or so.

Just use a tampon that day.
You won't catch it just from 1 day.

I've been using tampons for 3 1/2 years & I haven't caught it!

Use a tampon. Use the lightest absorbancy and change often and you probably won't get tss.
