Although studies show that the more education you have, the more money you are likely to make, intelligence is not necessarily a direct indicator of how much you will earn. Many intelligent people, for one reason or another, have little formal schooling, but are still very successful, and some well-schooled (not necessarily intelligent) people are not successful.

Some people have a great deal of learning in a specific area and thus appear intelligent if you are talking about that area. However, if you talk about other things, they may not seem so intelligent.

I think the smartest people are those who figure out a way to do something they love to do, and make a living at it, even if it does not result in them being rich. Sure, it's probably great to have a lot of money (I'll let you know if I ever get a lot), but as long as you can live a decent life doing things you love to do, I think you are quite smart.

So, in answer to your question, I would say the smartest one is the one most enjoying their work and life.

It depends on whether the person whom makes $250k actually worked to earn that money or inherited a business and fell into it.

My grandfather barely graduated from high school, but always made at least 6 figures.... and 50 years ago that was a lot of money! He worked his butt off owning and operating his own heavy equipment company and loved it.... it was really his passion was to be "the boss". He started from the ground up and he was a very smart businessman.... he had great connections, amazing people skills and a knack for performing very difficult tasks with any piece heavy equipment.

But then again, I know an amazingly smart guy with his masters in mathematics. He doesn't make more than 60k, but really has no interest in being rich. He found a fun job that he likes, lives a simple happy life with his wife who also works (no idea what she makes) and uses his time and money wisely.

Both of these situations require the use of one's intelligence to find the best way to manage one's lifestyle. But there are many more factors than just degrees and income that measure a person's "smarts".

How smart you are is nt necessarily affected by how much education you have or how much money you make. There are many very intelligent people who have never finished highschool. Others go though years of schooling but fail to put their knowledge into practice, or are utterly lacking in common sense.

As for making money, and intelligent person would find a job that they enjoy and a salary that they could live on. It may or may not be the highest paying job, but if it's something they enjoy doing, then it's all worth it.

So who is smarter in your question? I have no idea. In the traditional measure of intelligence, I'd have to say whoever has the higher IQ, but there are so many ways of looking at intelligence that it's impossible to determine with complete certainty who is truly smarter.

the person with no education is people and system smart. he/she knows how to gewt the work done and make money.

the person earning 50k per year probably was a routine based person with low risk taking personality. he need not be less smarter than the guy making 250,000 per year. he probably just wansts a decent pay with job security.

an engineer makes $60,000 per year and a basketball player earns $5 million per year. would the high school drop out ball player be smarter according to you?

money is not an indicator of intelligence in all cases.

I guess the one with the degree is happier than the other. Because when I stopped college for a long time I felt like I was nothing but trash when I saw my name on the list of graduating students I was smiling from school to our house. You see having an education is big deal enough. I got an Uncle who just completed high school, he started his furniture business and then shifted to heavy construction, He is a multi millionaire in our currency. Practically building the whole country. I also got an Aunt in the states who has a basic salary of 5000 $ a month, she is an accountant, married to a retired University professor who is also on a 5000$ a month pension. They both have their master's degree. My cousin has a PhD he is Filipino-Canadian and he teaches English at a University in the states. Never have been the question about how much you make. They always say the most important thing is how much you save. Be it money or people or things. My Dad retired at age 50, he is in the states , owns a 4 door apartment in Des Plaines, makes 1000$ for each room every month. He is just College grad. Drives a 7 series BMW gets a monthly pension I don't know how much. All of my cousins are degree holders. I have 4 cousins in the states. And they all live a happy rewarding life. And my favorite cousin is in Arizona, working for GMC, spends his money investing in houses and waits for the equity sells em and gets his mark ups. Works everyday, got 4 cars, half a million dollars in his account, he is 32 years old.

Here in the Philippines, I also have cousins from my mother's side. Plenty are High school grads. The poorest where abandoned by their parents and is living with one of her uncle. Stopped school at grade3. But if you'll look at her she so fat like she never gets hungry. Living on a farm where she gets food for free just by serving the house. The others stopped school because of drugs. The others married earlier in their teens. One of my cousin, one of my favorites, studied where our president studied college. And my cousin got her Masters at AIM, an International school. She now owns and operates a petroleum delivery company. My other cousin is a computer engineer. he taught me how to use the computer. Because in my time computers are a brand new thing. Anyway, in institutions , if you'll work, they pay higher to the one with the master's. Being rich while Uneducated Formally is just a stroke of luck, chance, and usually greed.

You are asking who is smarter, not about the money. Education is more important, so the person with the degree.

NONE!

because money doesnt give the real happiness which is what we all whant more then anything else

Fame or integrity: which is more important? Money or happiness: which is more valuable? Success or failure: which is more destructive? If you look to others for fulfillment, you will never truly be fulfilled. If your happiness depends on money, you will never be happy with yourself. Be content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.

The former in terms of education and the latter in terms of money-making.... the two are different kind of smartness and can not be compared with each other... in life both types of smartness are necessary.

depends what you mean by smart. Generally when saying smart we refer to accadamic ability. In which case the guy with the degree is. But can "smart" also refer to sports players and musicians.
Sallery has little to do with how "smart" you are and more to do with what you want.

education is not the basis of intelligence, but a basis on how you will mold your future to be financially stable. an intelligent
mind, no matter what , will be a success if one will use it wisely and cleanly, to have a good life ahead.
