My thoughts and prayers go out to any and all affected by the tragedy. Thank you yankeefan for starting this for people to express their condolences.

I live 15 minutes away from the bridge and walked over to look at it and it was a surreal experience. I can't believe that this happened. I think the Twins did the right thing by playing and not sending 25,000 people into traffic. I'd like to thank the nation for their support...Minneapolis really needs it right now.

Definitely.

I've spent some good times in the Twin cities visiting a friend who used to live there and feel a fondness for the place and the people, who were among the most friendly I've ever met.

My thoughts are with them.

I agree. My heart goes out to all the injured people and the ones who lost their lives. My heart goes out to their families as well.

Agree. But not only to those that died, but all survivors (it had to be a very scary situation) and the friends and family members of those involved.

I also would like to applaud all those that helped, whether rescuers in uniform or civilians.

Amen. I traveled that bridge many times when I lived in Minnesota. It's very sad and scary for everyone concerned.

For sure, I've been over that bridge hundreds of times, especially when I lived on campus. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who has ever lost a loved one.

Definately. What a tragedy. It just makes us realize that baseball cannot even compare to the gift of life, and that sometimes it has to take a backseat to things like this.

true true

altho it probably wasnt all that unrelated. the bridge was only like 8 blocks or so from the Metrodome, and the Twins organization said that their upcoming series with the O's maybe affected by this
