There are two ways to look at it:
1) It is fine because they are flat soled and will not hurt a grass or clay court.
2) It is not o.k. because the dark sole could scuff up a hard court leaving bad marks.
The support in these shoes are not meant for lateral movement which may result in a sprained, or worse yet, broken ankle. My first thought by someone asking this is they are not a competitive player which means they are most likely playing with their friends. In that case it is probably not worth going out and buy a "tennis shoe" just to hit and giggle.
Hope that helps.

please don't. skate shoes are very comfortable but they won't support your feet as well as actual tennis shoes. you might end up with blisters or worse a sprained ankle.

No.
Just please don't do it. I am the kind of guy that would hope people actually take care of the courts. But of course I know people aren't decient enough to do simple things to keep the courts nice.

NO, they dont support your ankles enough, can scuff up the courts and will give you blisters.
