I have been searching the internet all morning and love clown (tiger)plecostomus. I read up on them until I ran out of things I didn't know about them. I read that the smallest tank size is 10gallons(mine is 10.38). That they are easy to take care of(as in they just eat off the bottom of the tank). I also read that they reach a maximum size of 3-4 inches. The thing I didn't read is if they get along with the following fish: Peppered corydoras, australian rainbow, and otocinclus. I have all of those in my tank, and I really want the plecostomus so could I get one? I am also going to upgrade the plecostomus to a 15 or 20 gallon tank sometime in September. That way by the time it starts growing it will have more room. So would it be okay to purchase one in about 5 days?

Magicman: The otocinclus usually stays inside of my mountian hide out. And yes I love bottom feeders more then I do regular tropical fish. They are just so fascinating to watch!

Fishlover: Thanks that helps me a bit!!

Clown Plecos are quite easy going and should get along fine with those fish. The only possible exception would be the otocinclus, as it's another pleco.

It does sound like your heavy on bottom feeders, but they are all nice fish you have listed there, can't say that I blame you :)

Hey I found this:
Social behaviour and compatibility

Depending on the tank size, they can be kept as single fish to a group. They are peaceful and will barely ever bother other fish so there should be no compatibility problems with any fish, unless those are so big they could hurt the plecos despite of their armor or consider them as food.

They will defend their territories and food against other fish and members of their own species but usually no harm is ever done. When two specimen meet at feeding time there will be a bit of jumping and chasing which is fun to watch.

The Clown Pleco aka Ringlet Pleco makes a good tankmate for small to medium sized cichlids, in a community tank or even a species tank for breeding attempts.

Good luck they look cool!! :]

Sounds like you have a peaceful tank. Most plecos really don't care about their other tankmates so the octocinclus should be fine. Everybody should mind their own business. I say go for it!
