Pictures are always good. Esspecialy something in a fram that he can look at. My wife got me one of those picture frames that has a recorded message. That way he can look at you and hear your voice saying something encouraging. Or get something from your past that will bring back some funny memories. My wife did this for me. Things that no one else but he would relaize what the significance of it is, and then he'll have a good story to tell his buddies when they see it. For instance my wife sent me a stuffed animal of a bat, to signify the first night we did "it" (don't ask, long story, e-mail me if you want to hear it). Made me laugh and then I got the "Why a bat and why is it funny to you?" questions.

Also wera a T-shirt or something to bed, get your scent all over it, that way he can have the "you" smell with him when he sleeps.

Try to think of something that i simple but also shows some love and effort was put into it. Something personal.

I don't know how much has changed since I was there a couple years ago, but there were alot of things available for them. We pretty much had a Wal-Mart on our base.

I have noticed that the best things that help when my honey is deployed is I will send holiday packages. Like around halloween I will make a box with masks, candy (that wont melt), face paint and other decorations where they can have some "home town" fun while they are so far away. You can also get creative for Christmas, Memorial Day, Birthdays, Easter, New Years, etc. It doesnt really seem like much but they will enjoy it more than you will ever know. I know how it feels to be in your situation and I hope this helps you. Good Luck! email me if you have any more questions!

can not say it somewhat is unique, yet p.c.. are continuously effective. Be resourceful. So is a webcam. That'll help with communications with him (although there'll be a postpone.) purchase a Vonage or Packet8 telephone and deliver that. you will have the means to talk as long as you like with out irritating correct to the bill. (are not getting the international plan and have it sent on your place so it somewhat is going to likely be a close-by section code to you.) think of of those little issues he likes and deliver them. Write him each probability you get and save it beneficial. He can not restoration any of those unfavourable issues that result your existence whilst he's there. make beneficial he knows of you're being dedicated. If something is questionable, do no longer do it. If somebody else would evaluate it questionable, enable him comprehend and which you maintained your constancy. he's gonna see loads of adult males discover out approximately cheating better halves/girlfriends. If he expresses concern, comprehend why. thank you for helping a soldier and welcome to the toughest activity interior the army: that of military spouse.

My friend had a son there, and I suggested he use the detailed maps we'd used on a wilderness camping trip- a trip that the son had enjoyed prior to joining the military. He wrote his son, telling him about our trip. He wrote on the back of the maps. His son told his Dad that he loved sharing the maps and wilderness stories with his buddies. He could show his pals exact campsites, portages, and the spots where we'd seen moose or bears. He got to relive his time in a different world from Iraq. Exactly what would be meaningful to your husband shouldn't be too hard to come up with. If he loves his old restored car- a huge pic, with your letter on the back. If he likes riding dirt bikes, take some pics of people riding, and write on the back. Or, a pic of his home town. Or his dog. Combining pics and letters gives him a laugh, and takes him away from war for a little while.

This is a lot of work, but worth the effort.

Get a box of small note card with envelopes (get however many to correspond with the remaining days he will be gone). On each card, write a love note - a reason why you love him, something special you two share, a little poem, whatever. Seal them all up, put them in a box, and send them to him with instructions that he only gets to open one a day, and when they are gone, he will be back in your arms. I think he'd like that.

Something from home. Something that he can't get. My son-in-law was there. Photo's are always good. Something of yours that triggers memories. It could be intimate. A care package of little things might be better than one big thing. A St. Christopher's medal. Lots of emails and letters (both) nothing takes the place of perfume Drenched ltr. A good luck charm. Best wishes.

My husband wanted a pillow that I sewed together. It wasn't the best looking but still he said he used it every night. Pictures, or start a small scrapbook for him.
