WIll this gift of $100 million only finance more hatred of the United States? It is no secret that the U.S. is despised the world over, but why do we continue to give of ourselves, only to recieve hatred in return? This $100 million could have done alot within our own borders to help our fellow citizens, why give it away since our gifts have proven time and time again to do little to sway world opinion of the U.S. Makes no sense to me.

It seems to be no secret, but I think that the real secret is that people around the world do not despise the United States as much as you imply. Relax. The whole notion of our image around the world is politically motivated and has taken on a life of its own.

Don't they mean China gave them $100 million.

BTW you're right let's hope this 'gift' doesn't 'backfire' on us.

Gee if the Katrina victims could get some money-wouldn't that make sense?

People hate USA but the governments of other countries receiving aid support its foreign policy just like invading Iraq.
