Im so happy its been cancelled. Ive lived in Liverpool all my life and its annoys me how we cling onto the only thing we are famous for. Its just an excuse for people to get drunk and it costs a fortune for a drink (if you can get served) its got nothing to do with music anymore.
Anyone else feel the same?

Its a money thing, pile em in and charge too much. I suppose they have a good time though, if your daft enough to pay it and squash ! Its cancelled bescause of the safety issue, with all the building work going uo too. It would be better if it was a good old music scene again, and not just for money. Mathew st festival has only been going since 1993 though, it was famous well before that.
