You can call yourself anything you want. Self employed individuals are often everything from the President to the floor sweeper.

Calling yourself a CEO will make you a laughing stock and you will lose business. A CEO (Chief Executive Officer) is the top man in an organisation / company that employs hundreds or even thousands of employees. You will NOT appear more professional, just a stupid, idiotic pillock. You can call yourself the "Proprietor" or "Owner" but don't try to give the impression that you control a budget of millions of pounds and are responsible for at least hundreds of employees. One other point, to say that you are a CEO means that you are an "employee" of the company and do NOT own it. To say you are a proprietor is to say that you are your own boss and you are an employer. Big difference! Don't try to mislead otherwise you could end up with a criminal record for deception at the very least.

Since you are sole and a dba, calling yourself a CEO would give the impression there are multiple people under you. When people realize its just you, they will snicker and walk away laughing I hate to say.

I am a sole and a dba. I call myself the president, or better, the founder. Meaning I am the man who created the idea for this business. Like Dave Thomas of Wendy's and why he was still in commercials even though he was no longer working nor owning Wendy's.

president, owner, founder, web designer, head designer, or a fancy art dept type name.

Buddy, you can call yourself anything you want. It's your business. I would choose president or owner. CEO implies that you have other employees or are the chief officer of other employees. In order to be an executive, the needs to be subordinates that are mid-managers and employees.
Good luck with your business!
