Because of the wars you wage around the world and the literallly billions of dollars you give in foreign aid EVERY YEAR to only 6 million people in a country whose standard of living is high and comparable to countries in the EU.The country of course is Israel which gets over 30% of the US foreign aid and many times as much as the ENTIRE AFRICAN SUB-CONTINENT COMBINED.

I do not agree with the premise of your question. The infrastructure is not neglected. Why not find out why the road in Minnesota collapsed before passing judgment?
In my area, Southwestern PA there is so much repair work going on that it is getting annoying.

It would take money away from important things like the war .
The war needs highly skilled and trained workers to make weapons systems .

Bridge building takes a few engineers and lots of low skilled labor .

Now why would we want money to go to low skilled workers who will only piss it away on beer and drugs .
