When Obama said earlier this week that we would ask Pakistan for help in finding and fighting terrorists in Pakistan, but if they didn't help we would unilaterially invade Pakistan and take care of business, wasn't that just an endorsement of what Bush did in Iraq?

Oh, so Mark T., it's OK if a democrat takes unilaterial action toward war, but not a republican?

No. Bush went to the US Congress, the UN, developed a coalition of about 65 countries then invaded.

Obama is trying to talk his way into an election. He will say anything to get votes. I am sure he has no willingness to invade Pakistan. He is a left wing liberal loony. They are all to scared to fight.

Well, Pakistan IS actually highly unstable, the western Wahiristan region is currently being swept by Taliban militias imposing Sha'ria rules upon the people. Government personnel have been told to get their families etc. out of that region.

It's probably where Osama is, so here at the end of the day, whichever person is president will still have to ACTUALLY find , fight and kill Osama and a good percentage of his followers.

What most Americans still do not realize is that Iraq and Al Qaedia were two totally different kinds of problems and Bush blew our cash worrying about revenge and totally screwing up a relatively stable dictatorial regime, rather than actually protecting the American people from these dangerous fundamental Islamists.

There is the very real possibility that the Taliban seize control in Pakistan and by default aquire nuclear weapons which would just make thinks SO much more interesting.

So we can worry about Saddam and his SCUDS or a Fundamentalist Pakistan with nukes , but one is annoying the other is dangerous.

No, Obama wants to kill the terrorists that attacked us on 9/11. Bush wants to invade countries that had nothing to do with 9/11. See the differrence?

I think it's all talk and that he'd probably never really take that action. He's getting a black eye because as a small child, he was reared as a Muslim. This is probably his way of distancing himself. A good political move on his behalf.
