Aw don't be scared, every woman goes through it. When you do go and buy some you realise it's really not that bad! I work in a chemist anyway and have to sell them all the time, but nobody will laugh at you or anything. It's natural :)
On the pack they have little droplets that indicate the flow, between 1 and 5, so get one with about 3 then you'll feel safe. Also some have wings which keep them in place better (although thats a personal preference)
Good luck, you'll be fine :)

try the green ones with wings for regular flow just in case it gets a little heavier over the next few days.

pluck up the courage to go its perfwectly natural and no-one will know your buying them for yourself.

just put some dark rousers on and go to the shop itl take 5 mins and no-one will even batt an eyelid.

your mum may have some in the house anyway so have a look first if your really that bothered.

Sometimes the stores will offer sales on the name brands but a lot of your major drugstores also offer generics that are alot cheaper.

You let your mom know that you are starting your period and need to get some pads. The ones I use are Always. To find out more about their product lines such as for very light flows check out: http://www.always.com

One of the kinds they have is called an Ultra Thin Maxi pad that could be good for really light period flows.

Just go don't be embarrissed shop assistants dont really take much notice of what your buying they're just interesting in doing their job okay. I'd buy some regulars because you flow will become heavier and also buy some tampons while your at it...u might feel like giving them a go. Be confident :)

Aww you poor thing. Don't be scared- people in who serve in shops are used to selling them and they won't look twice at you honest. I buy Always in a green packet and you will need about £1.50. They are ok for light flow. Don't be afraid to look at the various ones on offer. No-one will be taking any notice i promise you.

Honey try taking a friend with you, have a good look at all the different types.
With your friend there it will be less frightening, you could both have a giggle too. Please just ask a shop assistant what she thinks is best if you really get stuck write a note & pass it to her.

Toilet paper, but it does make a mess. I fyou wrap it round the gussett of your knickers it might stay in place during the night. But really you need to be braver and ask the nearest woman, they will understand and help you out. I've even walked into a shop and asked the counter lady for a tampon and she smiled and gave me a box!
