Did you sign paperwork which misrepresented the rental property? If you did then you might have a problem. If your paperwork (papers that you signed did not misrepresent the rental) then the realtor would be responsible., but then again each state has different laws so if you need legal advice specifically about your situation see your attorney or legal aide in your community or area.

This sounds like a three way fiasco, with all parties bearing SOME responsibility here. Did YOU sign the listing agreement which incorrectly listed the A/C? If so, YOU have some responsibility here. The realtor does as well, if she made the error in conjunction with you. The renter bears the least of the responsibility, but they DID move in to the premises without further checking.
As far as buying SIX units, that's ridiculous. I'm not sure your electrical supply could handle all six working at the same time. Not to mention the noise which will fill the premises if they run all six at the same time.
I'd be talking to the listing agent and looking for compensation from her for the error (assuming she DID make the error). The tenant needs to be realistic with their request for cooling units. And you need to cooperate as well.

No, i wouldnt think so. They had every right to come in and inspect the house before they signed the lease. And SIX units? That seems a little unreasonable to me. If that were the case it would probably be more cost efficient to install central air... What if you would have listed that it had an indoor swimming pool in the third bedroom, would you have to install one then?
If it is such a big deal to them give them and they are going to make a huge deal maybe givem them the chance to break their lease? But I really dont think you have to do anything.

you have some what of a pickle, the real estate agent working for you made a material representation that the rental unit had ac, the renter reallying on that information rented,
now does that means six ac unit? a stretch maybe some units probably

your realtor did go through your house when you were selling it and look at it, didnt she?
If she did, then she is liable for selling a false item. You shouldnt have to pay for something that you did not falsely advertise.
Speak with your realtor and if she doesnt do anything, talk to her supervisor or the main office.
You do not need to pay anything.
