I have no problem if he wants to trim the budget across the board to bring the deficit under control. If we're going to do it, let's at least spread out the pain so we all feel it and we all give our fair share. But instead, he wants to increase military spending. The entire annual government funding for both PBS and NPR would buy only slightly more than one F-22 Raptor fighter plane ($400 million vs. $350 million). I don't consider this a wise trade-off with my tax dollars. We need media with good journalistic standards, especially as the cable news outlets continue to devolve into newstainment and biased opinion. As for Wall Street regulation, we need more of it, not less. It's the repeal of Glass-Steagall ten years ago that got us into this mess to begin with.
